Session for Afghan peace process to be held in Islamabad


ISLAMABAD: Four country session is on January 11 going to be held in Islamabad in order to decide a mechanism for talks between Afghan government and Taliban for the restoration of Afghan peace process.


The four countries include Pakistan, Afghanistan, China and the United States of America (USA).

According to Foreign Office (FO) sources, representatives of Pakistan, Afghanistan, USA and China will attend the session.

Pakistan will be represented by Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry while Afghanistan will be represented by Deputy Foreign Minister Hikmet Karzai.

The meeting will be attended by USA and China’s special representatives for Pakistan and Afghanistan.

The session will decide a mechanism for the schedule and procedure for the talks between Taliban and Afghan government.
