Seven injured in clash between paramedics, doctors in Peshawar


PESHAWAR: At least seven people sustained injuries as paramedics protest against doctors of Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar turned violent here on Monday.


According to details, paramedics’ staff staged a protest against the alleged occupation of hostel by the doctors.

The protesters while holding placards demonstrated outside the administration block.

The later proceeded towards the hostel to evacuate it from the doctors on which the situation took a fierce turn.

Both the parties threw stones at each other and when the uproar enhanced, police began shelling and baton charged the protesters as a result of which the hospital took the form of a battlefield.

The shelling and baton charge injured seven of the protesters including both the paramedics and doctors whereas six were also taken into custody by the police.
