Sindh Apex committee decides to step up pace of Karachi operation


KARACHI: Chief Minister (CM) Sindh Qaim Ali shah headed a meeting at CM House on Thursday while Governor Sindh, Corps Commander Karachi, DG Rangers, Inspector General of Police (IG) Sindh, Chief Secretary Sindh and other senior ministers of Sindh government also attended the meeting.


Director General (DG) Rangers Major General Bilal Akbar briefed the committee and said that Rangers have arrested 848 target killers since the beginning of the operation from September 2013 while arrested target killers have confessed to murder 4225 people, he added.

Law Advisor Sindh Murtaza Wahab briefed about the registration of maddarassas, establishment of 10 new anti-terrorism courts and appointment of judges. He said that registration act of maddarassas will be introduced soon.

CM Sindh expressed concerns over recent wave of target killing in Karachi and has directed to intensify operation against terrorists and those involved in crime.
