KARACHI: Sindh Governor Imran Ismail has opened the gates of the governor house to the public on Friday.
The public are allowed to walk in the spacious garden and to enter the premises through Gate No.1 after handing in their identity cards for security reasons.
Citizens can visit the building from 6am to 10am from Monday through Friday whereas on Sunday, they can visit the premises between 4.30pm and 6.30pm.
A day earlier, Governor Ismail had announced to open the gates of his official residence to the public from Sept. 7.
On Sept. 5, Mr. Ismail took to Twitter and said “As promised, Governor house lawn opens for families to come and use. Tours will be available to schools, it’s going to be very interesting for students. More to come.”
Besides, he said, there will be guided tours to allow visitors to see the historic building, office, rooms, chairs and other items that possesses historic significance.
