ISLAMABAD: Star witness of the National Accountability Bureau, former head of Joint Investigation Team (JI) of panama papers Wajid Zia will record his statement in Avenfield reference case, newsone reported.
Earlier today former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and Captain(R) Safdar appeared before the accountability court in Avenfied reference case, and then left the proceedings as their request for exemption was approved by Judge Muhammad Bashir.
The accountability court has reserved the verdict after listening the arguments presented by NAB prosecutor, defendant Maryam counsel pertaining to the JIT report to be made the part of proceedings.
Maryam counsel contended that only part related to Avenfield reference should be made the part of the proceeding, where NAB prosecutor stated that the entire JIT report consisting of 10 volumes should be examined against Sharifs.
NAB has filed three corruption references against Sharif family on the orders of Supreme Court of Pakistan in Panama Papers ruling case.
Nawaz Sharif, his sons Hussain Nawaz, Hassan Nawaz are accused in all three corruption references, whereas Maryam Nawaz and Captain(R) Safdar are accused in Avenfield reference case.
