Supreme Court orders complete audit of Pakistan Railways, rebukes Saad Rafique

LAHORE: The Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar  has ordered the government to conduct a complete audit of the Pakistan Railways and submit the report in front of the Supreme Court.


In the last hearing the Court was informed that the Pakistan Railways has suffered a loss of worth 60 billion rupees to the national exchequer.

On Saturday, while conducting the hearing in Lahore registry of the Supreme Court, the incumbent Railway Minister Saad Rafique exchanged interesting remarks with the Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar.

Saad Rafique while addressing the CJP said that “I am not here to deliver a political speech, but i want the Court to know the performance this government has shown in the Railway sector”, on which the CJP reminded “That no one will let him deliver apolitical speech”.

Furthermore, when the Court  ordered the to conduct the  audit of the Railway, the Minister claimed that the honorable Supreme Court will be satisfied with the government’s performance, once the audit is done.
