ISLAMABAD: According to a witness who recorded statement against former Finance Minister Ishaq Dar in front of accountability court, alleged the latter for a rapid increase in his assets between 1993-2009.
Ishaq Dar is facing corruption cases, for possessing assets more than his income as ordered by the Supreme Court of Pakistan in Panama Paper Case.
The corruption case is filed by National Accountability Bureau on the orders of Supreme Court of Pakistan.
Commissioner Inland Revenue Ishtiaq Ahmed, while recording his statement, revealed that wealth records from 1993 showed Dar’s total assets were worth Rs9.1 million. “These assets grew to Rs830m according to records from 2009,” he added, highlighting the exponential increase in Dar’s wealth over the given time period.
The case was adjourned until 30th January, 2018
