Minister for Railways Azam Khan Swati has pledged to digitize the ticketing process of railways in a month.
Addressing a news conference in Islamabad today (Monday), he said automation in the ticket booking will help to reduce corruption.
He said that steps will be taken for the welfare of labour class, however, strict action will be taken against corrupt elements in the organization.
The Minister said railways will soon earn 30 billion a year through its freight services.
Azam Khan Swati said railway stations will be turned into business points on the pattern of international standards.
He assured that rehabilitation of damaged tracks will be carried out to make train travel safer.
Commenting on valuable railways property, he said any piece of land will not be sold but it will be utilized for making revenue. He said Royal Palm will be outsourced to make it profitable.
