Tareen pens letter to ECP, accuses PML-N of interference in Lodhran by-polls

ISLAMABAD: PakistanTehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) central leader Jehangir Tareen on Monday accused Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) MNA Abdur Rehman Kanju of interference in NA-154 Lodhran by-polls.

Jahangir Tareen wrote a letter to Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in which he said that PML-N MNA’s are engaged in attracting the elderly towards their party during their visit to the Lodhran and are playing the role of a manager of the candidate’s electoral campaign.

Besides this documents of violation of electoral code of conduct have also been attached with the letter.

Jahangir Tareen have also requested the chief election commissioner to take notice of the issue and ensure the implementation on the code of conduct.

PML-N candidate Siddique Baloch was de-seated by the tribunal on August 26 over a petition filed by Jahangir Tareen against alleged rigging in NA-154 Lodhran during the 2013 general elections.

By-election in NA-154 constituency of Lodhran will be held on December 23 this year.
