RAWALPINDI: On Monday, the Pakistan Army foiled a terror attack as one soldier named Gul Khan embraced martyrdom at Makki Garh post in North Waziristan’s Shawal valley, the Pakistan Army media wing Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.
The troops effectively repulsed the attack, adding that the soldier was martyred during an exchange of fire, said ISPR.
During a patrol in Boyya area, where on Sunday an Army post was attacked by a group, five dead bodies with bullet wounds have been found from a nullah approximately 1.5 kilometres away from Khar Qamar post, said ISPR.
ISPR added that the identification of bodies is in process.
On Sunday, five Pakistan Army personnel were injured in an attack at Khar Qamar check post near North Waziristan, the Pakistan Army media wing Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.
A group attacked the check post in an effort to free an alleged terror facilitator, said ISPR. The said group was headed by Mohsin Dawar and Ali Zaheer who, along with his eight companions, were taken into custody by the army, added ISPR. Dawar fleed after provoking the attackers.
The attackers made hateful speeches prior to attacking to which the Army personnel responded patiently.
Three attackers died and ten were injured in the exchange of fire between the Army and the attackers, ISPR further added.
All the injured were taken to the Army hospital, added ISPR.
