There are severe allegations against Panama JIT head: Rehman

ISLAMABAD: State Minister for Information Technology Anusha Rehman on Wednesday said there are severe allegations against Chairman of the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) Wajid Zia.

Rehman alleged that Zia has privately hired his cousin’s law firm in Britain to probe Panama Papers case.

Speaking to journalists outside the Supreme Court, the minister claimed that the law firm approached by the JIT is defunct. That company has not done anything in the past one year.

“The question is that who will give clarification regarding these allegations. JIT chairman must come forward and give reply now,” she added.

Anusha Rahman asked: “Will another JIT be formed to probe these allegations against the Panama JIT.”

The minister said the JIT went beyond its limit during investigation and it used insulting language.
