Unfortunate that Parliamentarians buy, sell their vote: CEC

ISLAMABAD: Chief Election Commissioner Justice(R)Sardar Raza Khan said that selling, buying of votes is a crime, also expressing sadness over the parliamentarians who change their loyalties, newsone reported.


The Election monitoring body was hearing complaints of affected political parties in Senate polls, which hurled allegations ‘of Horse trading’ on the victorious parties that secured more seats in the upper house, more than the expected proportional seats in accordance with their representation in provincial assemblies.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Pakistan Muslim League(Nawaz), Muttahida Qaumi Movement(Pakistan) filed complaint in ECP against the alleged horse trading.

ECP, however adjourned the hearing till 4th April, seeking evidence from the respective parties to provide details of ‘horse trading’.
