Woman claims Sabri’s hitman sketch resembles her missing son

KARACHI: Police have released a sketch of a suspect possibly involved in the murder of legend qawwal Amjad Sabri, following his burial amid tears and tributes on Thursday.

However, a woman is now claiming that the hitman sketch looks close to her missing son.

The case took an interesting twist when Hameeda Khatoon – a resident of Upper Gizri in Clifton – claimed that the sketch of the hitman resembled her son who has been missing for the last three years.

She even reached the Sindh High Court (SHC) to file a petition in this regard. She also informed the media that she had lodged a First Information Report (FIR) with the area police in 2014 about the disappearance of her son.

Thousands of fans, friends and family members attended the funeral prayers of the highly praised qawwali maestro and Sufi singer, Amjad Sabri, who was shot dead in broad daylight on Wednesday (June 22).
