Lahore: Punjab government spokesman Malik Ahmed Khan on Friday has said State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) had confirmed that no foreign currency commercial bank accounts of the accused were found.
During the press conference in Lahore he said that FIA, agency’s own investigation had also not found any bank accounts belonging to the suspect.
Later in the evening, SBP spokesperson said that the bank had been asked to investigate the number of bank accounts opened against another National Identity Card (CNIC) of the suspect. The investigation revealed that no bank accounts had been opened against the second CNIC either, the spokesman said.
In a letter released by State Bank of Pakistan it was stated that no bank account of suspect has been found in Pakistan.
“All commercial banks have informed that they have searched their databases and found no account of the accused against the said CNIC,” the letter read.
The hearing of the Supreme Court’s suo moto notice on the matter has also been re-scheduled for Sunday.
