Zardari, Talpur’s judicial remand extended till Sept 19 in money laundering cases

ISLAMABAD: An accountability court in Islamabad on Thursday extended the judicial remand of former president Asif Ali Zardari and his sister Faryal Talpur till September 19 in the money laundering through fake bank accounts and Park Lane Estate Company references.


The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leaders were presented before Duty Judge Raja Jawad Abbas today amid strong security arrangements.

The judge remarked that the concerned judge has been hearing the cases and he would continue with the proceedings.

Meanwhile, the court marked their attendance and adjourned the hearing with any proceedings.

It has been alleged that Zardari bought 2,460 kanal land in Islamabad through the Park Lane company. The property, which is worth Rs2 billion, was allegedly bought by the former president in Rs620 million, according to NAB sources.

Sources added that PPP chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is also a suspect in Park Lane case.

In June, NAB handcuffed Zardari in the fake accounts case which pertains to the transactions worth hundreds of millions of rupees to the private companies, allegedly, through fake bank accounts.
