Army Chief visits Azad Kashmir Regimental Center: ISPR

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa visited Azad Kashmir Regimental Center, the Pakistan Army media wing Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Thursday.

On the duration of his visit, the Army Chief conferred Lieutenant General Sher Afgun the post of Colonel Commandant of the regiment.

Core Commander Rawalpindi Lieutenant General Bilal Akbar, a large number of serving and retired officers, and soldiers attended the ceremony, stated the official press statement.

COAS laid floral wreath at the gravestone of the martyrs.

COAS praised the contributions and sacrifices endured by the Regiment for the defence of the nation and said whether it was a conventional war or a mission against terrorism, the regiment played an important role.
