KARACHI: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on Tuesday formally issued a commemorative coin on the occasion of 550th birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak.
A ceremony to this effect was held in Karachi.
Speaking on the occasion, SBP Governor Reza Baqir said the purpose of releasing the commemorative coin by the central bank was to supplement and be part of national efforts to promote interfaith harmony.
The founder of the Sikh religion preached the message of peace and brotherhood, added SBP governor. He expressed confidence that through this coin his message will reach every household.
Millions of Sikhs are marking the 550th birth anniversary of the founder of their religion, the Guru Nanak today.
