ISLAMABAD: New Chinese train engine unsuccessful first assignment

On Monday a new train engine imported from China by Pakistan Railway could not finish its first assignment and failed at Sukkur en route to Karachi. The locomotive was to take Shalimar Express to Karachi from Lahore.

However, the engine developed some fault and stopped at Daherki.

Agencies had to set up an alternate engine to get the train to its address.

Meanwhile, a spokesman of Pakistan Railway said that there was a mistake in the engine’s computerized system. The spokesman stated that local technicians were not prepared to employ computer technology.
