RAWALPINDI: Highest military honors, including Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (Military), Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military) and Tamgha-i-Basalat were bestowed upon Army officers and soldiers during the corps investiture ceremony of the Rawalpindi Corps, said Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Friday.
Commander Rawalpindi Corps, Lieutenant General Bilal Akbar was guest of honor of the ceremony, according to a press statement issued by the ISPR.
Tamgha-i-Basalat was awarded to 24 Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs) and soldiers including 21 martyrs (Shuhada). The awards were received by martyrs’ next of kin posthumously.
Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military) was awarded to 63 officers while Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (Military) was awarded to 85 officers for delivering commendable services to the nation.
ISPR said a large number of senior Army officials and the families of award recipients attended the ceremony.
