NZ women defeat Pakistan by 14 runs in T20I

NELSON: New Zealand’s White Ferns have completed a clean sweep of their home cricket series against Pakistan after securing a 14-run win in their Twenty20 International at Saxton Oval in Nelson on Monday.


The White Ferns, who opted to bat first after captain Suzie Bates won the toss, only managed 118 runs for 9 off their 20 overs, consistently losing wickets throughout their innings.

But the New Zealand bowlers stepped up to the challenge and restricted Pakistan to 104 for 9 to win the match.

Pakistan s Aliya Riaz was the top scorer with 28, while New Zealand s Liz Perry top scored for the home side with 26.

Earlier, the White Ferns had won their five-match one day international series against Pakistan 5-0.
