KARACHI: The Pakistan hockey team on Monday has decided to not participate in the forthcoming Asian games in protest over unpaid salaries.
“We won’t participate in the Asian Games if we aren’t given our due daily allowance,” said team skipper Rizwan Senior.
“The players have not yet received the daily allowance for the training camp held for Champions Trophy,” he added.
On the other hand Pakistan hockey federation president Khalid Khokhar has announced to give daily allowance to hockey players before Asian games.
“Will give allowance to players with my own money as hockey federation still not received 20 million approved grant,” he added.
The president has directed players to refrain from giving any statement and should keep themselves away from such types of conspiracy.
He assured players to resolve their issues. The national side’s training camp was scheduled in Holland for the Champions Trophy.
