Pakistan scores a hefty 280 against Australia as Sohail shines

SHARJAH: Pakistan scored 280 with 5 wickets down against Australia on Friday at Sharjah in the first one day international out of five as Harris Sohail scores a maiden century.


Pakistan won the toss and skipper Shoaib Malik opted to bat first as Shan Masood and Mohammad Abbas debut in the ODI.

Abbas has so far taken 66 wickets in his test career and he will join the bowling aquad comprised of spinners Imad Wasim and Yasir Shah. While all-rounder Faheem Ashraf and fast bowler Mohammad Amir are also part of the bowling squad.

Australian fast bowler Nathan Coulter-Nile took two important wickets while Umar Akmal came short of his fifty and skipper Malik remained unable to score big.
