“The PCB and ECB have held fruitful discussions on matters of mutual interest,” said a press release.

According to the press release PCB will continue to host its major tournaments in the UAE.

“The ECB commits to a significant reduction of the costs to PCB of holding these tournaments with immediate effect. ECB will host a T20 and T10 League from Dec 10, 2018 to Jan 10, 2019 when there are no PCB fixtures in the UAE,” the press release added.

According to the agreement ECB will not host any League during the time when the PCB/PSL T20/ODI fixtures are being played in the UAE.

It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had sought a written reply from Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) that the latter will not hold any Twenty20 league between October-March in order to protect commercial interests of Pakistan especially the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

PCB also warned ECB that they will shift their matches to ‘Malaysia’ if ECB failed to give them firm commitment.

Pakistan has been playing in the UAE since 2009 after the attack on Sri Lankan team which had closed the doors of international cricket in Pakistan. However, the cricket is returning back to home soil as Pakistan successfully hosted PSL Final and WIndies for three T20Is in Karachi in April.
