LAHORE: Najam Sethi is back as the Pakistan Cricket Board(PCB) chairman, as he was elected for three years, by the Board of Governors(BOG). Sethi had also been PCB chairman before, after loosing battle against the former Chairman Zaka Ashraf in May, 2014.
Najam Sethi holds the the credit of conducting successful Pakistan Super League(PSL)editions twice. He also is complimented for bringing International players in Lahore to play PSL 2nd edition final.
He succeeded Shehreyar Khan, 83, who retired from his chairmanship citing health issues. Sethi, also remained on the PCB’s BoG and head of the Executive Committee (ExCo) to control cricket affairs in Pakistan. In that period, Sethi was involved in the day-to-day functioning of the PCB and became an influential board member with signing authority. Sethi, 69, a former caretaker chief minister of Punjab, comes from a journalism background.
His election as chairman of PCB has been welcomed by former cricketing superstars.
