World Cup 2019: Sri Lanka opted to bat first against England

LEEDS:  Sri Lanka, after winning the toss, opted to bat first against host England on Friday here at Leeds.

England whose sole defeat came at the hands of Pakistan, currently placed on the third spot on the points table following their wins against Bangladesh, West Indies, and the Afghanistan, where the Lions cumulated a World Cup record total of scoring 397 runs.

Sri Lanka’s sole win of the tournament came against Afghanistan.

Sri Lanka will be guarded of a strong England side which shows no signs of shortcomings regardless of the absence of Roy. A win for England today would see them qualify for the semi-finals.
