TAUNTON: West Indies on Monday set a massive target of 322 for Bangladesh to chase as Hope, Lewis, and Hetmyer played brilliant strokes.
Hope with 96, Lewis with 70 and Hetmyer with a fifty hit the Bengal Tigers’ bowlers hard who chose to field first after winning the toss. Mohammad Saifuddin, Mustafizur Rahman both dismissed three batsmen each with Shakib Al Hasan taking two wickets.
Currently placed at the bottom half of the table, Windies and the Bengali Tigers will have an opportunity to get back into the race for the playoffs. While the winner would possibly accelerate to the top half.
Windies still have six games to go of which they ideally need to win at least four to have a reasonable probability of forwarding to the next round.
On the other hand, Bangladesh had an outstanding start to their campaign in this tournament, beating South Africa with ease, but haven’t been able to perform similarly ever since.
They are currently holding number seven in the points table with just one win in four matches and are desperate for another win to keep their winning streak on the track.
