LAHORE: Yasir Shah has been selected to replace Shadab Khan for the upcoming T20I and ODI series against England, to be played from May 05-19, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said in a press release on Sunday.
Spinner Khan, after contracting a virus-related illness, was ruled out of the series and will undergo treatment for at least four weeks.
The PCB will arrange Khan’s appointments with English specialists to help him recover from the illness in time for International Cricket Council (ICC) World Cup 2019’s match between Pakistan and West Indies on May 31 at Trent Bridge.
With 23 wickets in 4 ODIs, Shah took 19 wickets in four tests against England in 2016. He will travel to England on April 23 with the Pakistan WC squad. Pakistan, like the other ten competing teams, has the option to change the WC squad until May 23.
