Web Desk: All eyes will be on technology giants Sony and Microsoft in 2019 as both firms are rumoured to be announcing all-new games consoles.
A release date seems more realistic in 2020, and the PlayStation fans are expected to count on Sony’s new console to be revealed by the end of the year.
However, a series of leaked patents and reports have led some to believe that PlayStation 5 is in the works.
Sony had launched the PlayStation 4 in 2013, and since then the console has been a resounding success, selling around 100 million consoles worldwide.
Rumors have suggested that the PS5 will use cartridges instead of discs, and Sony has actually patented a device that’s very reminiscent of the Switch’s design.
Sony is expected to give fans a sneak peak at the system at an event in the middle of 2019 before unveiling the console in full at the PlayStation Experience (PSX) at the end of the year, says the tech website Screen Rant.
