Pakistan complete series whitewash over Scotland

EDINBURGH: Pakistan thrashed Scotland by 84 runs in second Twenty20 international claiming 2-0 clean sweep over opponents on Wednesday.

Batting first Pakistan set 167 run target for Scotland to win the second Twenty20 international being played at Edinburgh.

In response Scotland were all out on 82 runs in 14.4 overs courtesy Faheem Asharaf and Shadab Khan.

Usman Khan Shinwari get 2 wickets in 2 overs by giving away just 4 runs. Faheem Ashraf managed to get three wickets in 2.4 overs giving away 5 runs. Shadab Khan and Muhammad Nawaz picked up 1-1 wicket each.

Usman Shinwari was awarded Man of the match.

Winning the toss green shirts made 167 runs in 20 overs for the loss of six wickets. All-rounder Shoaib Malik showed his class again as Malik scored 49 off 22 balls, including one boundary and five sixes.

Scottish bowler Michael Leask took three wickets, Chris Sole took two and Mark Watt bagged one.

Earlier, Pakistan won the toss and opted to bat against Scotland in the second and final T20 international today, after beating the hosts by 48 runs in the series opener in Edinburgh on Tuesday.

Batting first Pakistan set 205 runs target for Scotland by losing four wickets in allotted 20 overs.

In response Scotland could only scored 156 runs for the loss of six wickets in 20 overs.

All-rounder Shoaib Malik and captain Sarfraz Ahmed set partnership of 93 runs for the 4th wicket stand. Malik scored 53 runs off 27 balls smashing 5 sixes.

Captain Sarfraz Ahmed made not out 89 runs off 49 balls smashing 3 sixes and 10 fours.

Pakistan, during their ongoing UK tour, beat Ireland in a historic one-off Test before going on to draw the two-match Test series against England.
