Asad Umar takes charge as minister for planning

ISLAMABAD: Former minister finance minister Asad Umar on Tuesday took charge as the minister of planning division.


President of Pakistan, Arif Alvi administered the oath.

A day earlier, Dr Firdos Ashiq Awan announced that Umar will make a come back to the federal cabinet as the minister for planning and special initiative.

She said as part of an expansion in the cabinet, Khusro Bakhtiar, who was until now serving as the Minister for Planning and Development, will be made the federal minister for petroleum.
