ISLAMABAD: On Thursday, an anti-terrorism court (ATC) on remanded former senator Faisal Raza Abidi into the police’s custody for two days.
Judge Syed Kausar Abbas Zaidi of ATC I was hearing the case filed a day earlier by the secretariat police.
The ATC granted Abidi’s physical remand in the case that according to the First Information Report (FIR), a copy of which is available with Newsone, includes Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA).
The fire brand Abidi has been accused of hurling threats against judiciary and judges.
Earlier today, the Islamabad High Court rejected former senator Faisal Raza Abidi’s petition to dismiss terror charges against him.
While hearing the plea, Justice Moshin Akhtar Kayani remarked that the judiciary and chief justice were being openly threatened. “The attitude of threatening the judiciary is wrong,” he observed.
Abidi was arrested a day earlier when he appeared before the Supreme Court bench in contempt case.
