EC adjourns hearing of references against Imran, Jahangir till Dec 5

ISLAMABAD: Election Commission on Tuesday adjourned the hearing of references against Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan and Jahangir Tareen till December 5.

PTI lawyer Advocate Naeem Bukhari requested the court to grant more time to submit reply of Imran Khan however; the non-submission of reply from the PTI chief was severely criticized by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders.

“Imran Khan always try to escape when a reply is sought from him. Khan wanted accountability but now he has to give it himself,” said Talal Chaudhry.

PTI spokesperson Naeemul Haq said that PML-N leaders are misleading the nation through their lies.

He asserted that a petition will be filed against them.

“A reference against Danial Aziz and Talal Chaudhry will be filed under article 62 and 63,” he said.

On the other hand, the reply submitted by Jahangir Tareen states that State Bank has cleared him over the loan waiver whereas tribunal’s verdict was also announced in his favour in tax evasion case therefore; the baseless reference should be dismissed.
