Ex-CM Punjab supports Buzdar; Ghulam Sarwar defiant over not stepping down as governor

LAHORE: Punjab Assembly Speaker and Pakistan Muslim League (Q) leader, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi y openly supported incumbent chief minister Usman Buzdar.

Speaking to the media in Lahore, the ex-CM Punjab said, “Changes in the cabinet are the prime minister and chief minister’s privilege.”

Furthermore, trusting the PM to appoint anyone, Elahi added, “It is entirely the prime minister’s authority to appoint whoever as minister on the basis of performance.”

“Our party is strong with Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar and all our meetings are to strengthen him,” the Punjab Assembly speaker continued.

On the other side, in a presser the governor Punjab, Ghulam Sarwar claimed that he will not step down or leave the country.

The statement by the PTI leader and governor came after media speculation that Ghulam Sarwar may be replaced for allegedly intervening in the government’s affair.
