Father of Dr. Arif Alvi was Jawaharlal Nehru’s dentist

As the Pakistan Tehreek-e- Insaaf (PTI) leader Dr. Arif Alvi elected as the 13th president of Pakistan, new revelations regarding his life and family begins to surface on the news platforms.


It is been newly revealed to the public that Dr. Alvi’s father “Dr Habib ur Rehman Elahi Alvi who practiced dentistry in India migrated to Pakistan in 1947 and opened a dental practice in Saddar, Karachi”, according to a biography posted on PTI website.

“Dr Elahi Alvi was a dentist to Jawaharlal Nehru and the family has letters from Nehru to Dr Alvi in their possession,” statement further reads.

His father was also connected with the Jinnah family and was made a Trustee of the trust established by Quaid-e-Azam’s siter to which she gift all her worldly belongings.

President Alvi, whose full name is Dr Arif ur Rehman Alvi, was born in Karachi in 1949 where his father mifter partition.
