KARACHI: Governor Sindh, Imran Ismail is in hot water over the statement where he stated that on an administrative basis new provinces are required across the country including Sindh.
In an interview with veteran Journalist, Tariq Mahmood in Prime Time show aired on Tuesday at Newsone, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s nominated governor was asked about the party’s policy about the formation of new provinces just like their support for South Punjab’s province.
“I believe there should be a debate over the need to form new provinces on the administrative basis,” replied the governor. When his attention was once again brought into notice for implementing that formula into Sindh he conceded that ” Just like in KP, Punjab, Balochistan the criteria for the formation of the province on an administrative basis includes Sindh as well.”
Ismail statement was heavily criticized on social media as many sought his resignation:
Imran Ismail has no moral right to continue as Governor Sindh! He speaks against the integrity and unity of Sindh!
In totality he seems an idiot of high stature! pic.twitter.com/9AJjl3wVOb

Pakistan People’s Party leader and advisor to CM Sindh on information, Murtaza Wahab slammed the governor on ‘divisive’ politics and advised the latter to refrain from indulging himself into politics.
However, the PTI’s stalwart clarified that his statement was taken out of context and raised the slogan of Jeway Sindh and Jeway Pakistan simultaneously.
