LAHORE: On Wednesday, all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez submitted his reply to the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) show-cause notice for “criticising the International Cricket Council (ICC) rules related to reporting suspect bowling actions”.
In his reply, Hafeez, who was recently cleared for bowling after a third suspension over suspect action, said that he had not criticised the ICC and that his interview with international media outlet was presented out of context. “I only touched upon the technical aspects.
Last Friday, Pakistan Cricket Board(PCB) had issued a show-cause notice to all- rounder Muhammad Hafeez over his comments seeking explanation on International Cricket Council(ICC) alleged dual-procedures to asses the bowling action of a off-spinner.
Hafeez, passed those remarks about the cricket governing body in an interview to a British media outlet, where he questioned the procedure.
It is pertinent to mention that Hafeez has been cleared by the ICC after he was reported by match officials of having suspected bowling action in Sri Lanka series, last year.
Hafeez claimed that he could not understand why his bowling action was declared illegal when he had a 16 degree bend, but bowlers who have 25 or 30 degree bends are not being reported.
