Happy Birthday Rawalpindi Express

The former Pakistani pacer Shoaib Akhter, fastest bowler of all times in the history of cricket, has turned 43, today.


On this day, Mr.Akhtar was born in Rawalpindi. He, more commonly known as “Rawalpindi Express” , had his Test debut in November 1997 as an opening fast bowler and three months later , he played his first One Day International and since then he embedded his name in the golden book of cricket. In his cricket career, he holds the record for the fastest ball delivered in cricket history and clinched 444 international wickets in all three formats of the game.

From 1997 to 2011, the ‘speedstar’ played for Pakistan in 46 Test matches, 163 one-day internationals, and 15 Twenty20 internationals.

As Shoaib turns 43, his twitter feed pours in with birthday wishes from his fans across the globe.


Recently, Mr. Akhtar was appointed Advisor to Chairman on Cricket Affairs/Brand Ambassador PCB by current chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board Najam Sethi.


Following Najam Sethi’s tweet, Mr. Akhtar showed great determination and vowed to take ‘Pakistan Team’ to new heights.
