Heavy rain in Balochistan kills at least four, injures six

At least four persons were killed and six injured in rains-related incidents in Balochistan in the last two days. A large number of mud houses and walls were also damaged during the continuous rainfall in various parts of the province.


A woman and a child were killed when the roof of their house collapsed in Balochistan’s remote district of Sherani. The local tribesmen retrieved the dead bodies on their own.

Muhammad Aslam Tareen, the director general for Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), said all the deputy commissioners were directed to asses the damage and submit a detailed report at their earliest.

Tareen further confirmed that one person was killed in Kalat, one in Killa Abdullah and one woman in Pashtoon Bagh area of Quetta in rains-related incidents.
