ISLAMABAD: Heavy rain lashed Islamabad, Rawalpindi and adjacent areas on Monday night.
Continuous downpour in different areas inundated roads and streets in the twin cities and commuters faced immense difficulties while trying to carry on with their routines.
According to Flood Control Unit, 202 milimetre of rain was recorded so far in the twin cities. Sources informed that water level in Nullah Lai has rose to 14 feet as a result Civil Defence, Rescue 1122, Wasa and other departments have been directed to remain alert.
According to Met Office, rain-thundershower (with isolated heavy falls) accompanied by gusty winds is expected at scattered places in Hazara, Kohat, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha, Faisalabad divisions, Islamabad and Kashmir, today.
