ISLAMABAD: On Friday, Minister for Water resources Faisal Vawda announced on Twitter : “Pakistan and India have been into Indus water treaty dispute for ages. Due to our continued efforts there’s a major breakthrough that India has finally agreed to our request for inspection of Indian projects in Chenab basin.”
This development would pave way for an apparent effort to resolve the longstanding water issue between the two neighbouring countries.
Furthermore, the federal minister directed his three-member team to visit India soon to inspect the projects on Chenab basin.
The team under Indus Water Commissioner Meher Ali will visit India from January 27 to February 1.
