Indian Singer Daler Mehndi convicted of human trafficking, sent jail for two years

Indian Media reported on Friday famous Punjabi singer Daler Mehndi has been convicted on human trafficking case, and sentenced for two years imprisonment.

Mehdi and his brother Shamsher Singh had been indicted of sending people abroad by illegally disguising them as members of his troupe charging huge Money.

The court verdict was based on the cases filed in 1998, 1999.

After the verdict the singer was taken into Punjab police custody and then released on bails, Indian Media informed.
