KARACHI: Information regarding the presence of a bomb at the city’s famous Abdullah Shah Ghazi shrine turned out to be false on Tuesday, as officials of the Bomb Disposal Squad cleared Abdullah Shah Ghazi mazaar and did not find any explosive there.
According to police sources, an unidentified person had informed police officials at 06:30 am in the morning regarding the presence of a suspicious bag inside the shrine. Police immediately had the Bomb Disposal Squad dispatched to the shrine to deal with the situation.
During this time, the shrine was vacated and the Bomb Disposal Squad conducted their search. However, no bomb was found as the shrine was cleared by the BDS officials.
In 2010, twin bomb blasts had rocked the famous shrine in Karachi, which had led to the death of at least two people and injured as many as 60.
