Last sign of terrorism has been eliminated from Governor House: Nehal Hashmi

KARACHI: Senator Nehal Hashmi of the PML-N said on Friday that the last sign of terrorism had left the Governor House and the new Governor of Sindh is a true representative of democracy.

Speaking to media personnel, Nehal Hashmi said that those who loved Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif were now taking up space in the Governor House. He blamed General (R) Pervez Musharraf for appointing Ebad and said that the era of the dictator had formally concluded today.

“We have appointed a governor who has previously dispensed justice,” said Nehal Hashmi. “Fourteen years ago, MQM founder Altaf Hussain had sent the representative of a terrorist organisation to the Governor House,” he added.

Hashmi said that terrorists had been forced to leave the Governor House and the city. He also wondered why Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan, who was replaced today by Saeed-uz-Zaman Siddiqui as the Governor of Sindh, was allowed to leave the country.

“If cases were registered against him, then why was he allowed to leave?” asked Nehal.

The PML-N senator also promised that the federal government would extend its full cooperation to the PPP in running the affairs of Sindh smoothly. He claimed that with the appointment of the new governor, peace and stability would gain strength in Sindh.
