Nawaz meets JUI(F) leader Fazl ur Rehman at Jati Umra

LAHORE: A meeting between Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) supreme leader Nawaz Sharif and Jamiat Ulema Islam-Fazl chief Maulana Fazlur Rahman is currently under way.

The meeting is taking place at Nawazs Jati Umra residence. Opposition Leader in the Punjab Assembly Hamza Shehbaz and senior PML-N leader Pervaiz Rashid are also attending the meeting, according to sources.

The All Parties Conference (APC) scheduled for October 31 is the focus of the meeting. Maulana Fazl wants to convince Nawaz to attend the conference, sources added.

A day earlier, PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari said they have agreed to attend the APC hosted by Maulana Fazl.

On Saturday, former president Asif Ali Zardari said that he does not need an NRO.

The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) president said that if he is sent to jail, it will not be something new. He went on to claim that he never sought an NRO from former president General (r) Musharraf, he said this in a press conference.

He alleged that his friends were being arrested even though they have a problem with me.

Zardari further said that neither he needs Nawaz Sharif, nor does Sharif need him. He added that a meeting with former prime minister Nawaz Sharif could be possible in a meeting of the All Parties Conference (APC).
