Need to devise mechanism to bring back looted money stashed in Switzerland, Dubai: CJP

ISLAMABAD: The Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar while hearing foreign accounts case today, observed that billions of money is stashed in Switzerland and Dubai accounts.

He further stressed the need to form mechanism through which the looted money stashed abroad could be returned to the national exchequer, Newsone reported.

Moreover, the CJP called upon stake holders to devise strategy to counter white-collars crimes.

On March 20th, the State Bank of Pakistan had informed the Supreme Court of Pakistan that National Accountability Bureau(NAB) has sought the foreign account details of Pakistanis from SBP authorities.

CJP Saqib Nisar observed while heading a three member bench, that people usually perceive that the money located in foreign accounts is earned through illegal means, saying that the most important thing which matters is to bring back that money.

SBP official informed the court it has started working on the procedure to bring money back into Pakistan, earned through supposedly  illegal means.
