Opposition parties to protest today against alleged rigging outside ECP office in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: On Wednesday, all major parties which include Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, Pakistan Peoples Party, Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal and others, aligned against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, will hold a protest outside Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) office in Islamabad.


The protest would be attended by leadership of all the allied parties, including PML-N president Shehbaz Sharif.

However, PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and co-chairman Asif Ali Zaradri will not attend the protest, sources privy to development confided.

According to sources, all preparations lay finalised and members of anti-PTI alliance would gather at the Parliament House after 12pm on Wednesday. The participants would then march up to the ECP office from the Parliament House.

PML (N)leader Mushahid Hussain Syed said that they would protest outside the ECP office against alleged rigging of recently-held General Election 2018.

He said that his party was in contact with MMA, Awami National Party (ANP) and Qaumi Watan Party (QWP). “We have also spoken to Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party, Hasil Bizenjo and other parties.”
