PM inaugurates Gwadar International Airport, Health Complex in Balochistan

GWADAR: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday said in coming future people of Pakistan will benefit from developments in Gwadar and announced special grants and development of bridges for fishermen of the area.


Speaking to the inauguration ceremony of New Gwadar International Airport, PM said in past progress in Gwadar did not benefitted the natives of Balochistan, and the progress that does not benefit localities is no progress.

PM also launched distribution of Insaf Health Cards for the natives of Gwadar which has a credit limit of Rs0.27 million per family annually. PM said power generated form Gwadar and western coast line will be added to the national grid.

PM said the train service will be launched from Quetta to Gwadar with cooperation from China. Federal Railway Minister Shaikh Rasheed is here with me to lay foundation to the train service, said PM. PM said he will visit China in April.  Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Yao Jing was also present at the event.

PM announced the launching of Cargo and Passenger Ferry from Gwadar to Karachi and Qatar in coming future. PM said the Port Authority has decided to plant 1 million trees in Gwadar.

PM said plant will be installed to filter the ocean water at Gwadar.

After completion, the Gwadar International Airport will be Pakistan’s second largest. It will be capable of handling ATR 72, Airbus A-300 and Boeing B-747 aircraft on domestic as well as international routes. It will also be capable of handling 30,000 tons of Cargo as well.

Earlier today, Premier performed the groundbreaking of Balochistan Health Complex in Quetta.

PM Imran will also perform groundbreaking of Quetta-Zhob Road N-50 as part of western alignment of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), the DG ISPR wrote.

PM Imran Khan along with Governor & CM Bln & key Federal ministers arrived at Quetta Cantt. COAS received PM at Army Aviation Base. PM will do earth breaking of Bln Health Complex & Quetta-Zhob Road N-50 as part of western alignment CPEC.
