ISLAMABAD: On Tuesday, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has written a letter to the upcoming interim prime minister Justice(R) Nasir-ul-Mulk seeking him to rescind the appointment of Ali Jahangir Siddiqui as Pakistani Ambassador to the United States.
Furthermore, the letter also stated that Ali Jahangir Sidddiqui’s appointment has sent waves of concerns, terming it to be controversial, newsone reported
The PTI spokesperson Fawad Chaudhry maintained the new envoy lacks expertise in foreign affairs and the art of diplomacy.
Furthermore, the PTI also contended that the banker turned ambassador is more loyal to Sharif family interest.
Ali Jahangir Siddiqui is set to assume office on May 29, Tuesday.
Siddiqui arrived in Washington, DC Monday night ahead of his swearing-in, where he will replace outgoing Ambassador Aizaz Chaudhry, the former foreign secretary who served as Pakistan’s envoy to the US before his retirement last month.
Siddiqui will be assuming office just a few days ahead of the completion of the incumbent Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government’s term.
