Rangers foils major terror bid in Karachi

KARACHI: In a major achievement in ongoing operation Raddul Fasaad, the law enforcement personnel have arrested five terrorists who were operating networks of Indian intelligence agency Research and Analaysis Wing (RAW) and Afghanistan’s National Directorate of Security (NDS) in Karachi and Balochistan.


Addressing a press conference in Karachi on Wednesday, Colonel Qaisar revealed that apprehended terrorists, belonging to Al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS) and Daesh (also known as Islamic State), had joined hands with RAW and NDS to run their networks in Pakistan.

Tahir Zaman alias Faisal Mota, Muhammad Nawaz, Bilal Ahmed alias Kashif, Muhammad Farhan Siddiqui and Dar Muhammad Mashhadi were trained in Afghanistan, he added.

He further revealed that information regarding sensitive installations, suicide jackets, hand grenades, SMGs and other heavy weapons were recovered from possession of the terrorists.
