ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court on Thursday banned 24 water companies from selling water until their assurance for providing safety water.
A three-member bench, which was comprised under Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar, began the hearing of the provision of clean water case today.
The CJP remarked that companies’ lawyers receive a hefty amount of fee but this does not give them the right to take liberties.
The court observed that the companies should realise that they cannot sell unsafe drinking water.
The CJP maintained that the companies should be suspicious of not selling filthy water.
The court adjourned the hearing of the case for an indefinite period.
